 Blockbuster Inc. is a leading global provider of in-home movie and game entertainment, with approximately 8,000 stores throughout the Americas, Europe, Asia and Australia. The Company may be accessed worldwide at blockbuster.com. Blockbuster's business and operations were previously conducted by Blockbuster Entertainment Corporation, which was incorporated in Delaware in 1982 and entered the movie rental business in 1985. Blockbuster Entertainment Corporation was a public company and traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "BV". On September 29, 1994, Blockbuster Entertainment Corporation was merged with and into Viacom. In August of 1999, Viacom took Blockbuster Inc. public with an initial public offering of approximately 18% of its stock and Blockbuster made its debut on the New York Stock Exchange as "BBI". In October 2004, Viacom divested its remaining interest in Blockbuster through an over-subscribed exchange offer. The Blockbuster exchange offer was fully described in the Prospectus-Offer to Exchange dated September 8, 2004. Currently, Blockbuster is a fully independent company. | |
