NOVUS is a Latin words for something innovative. Trombone is an instrument that has gone through few changes in the last five hundred years, but with this instrument and the traditions that accompany it NOVUS offers a fresh new pin on chamber music. Concerts include music of varied genres and styles presented with the precision and clarity of a classical string quartet. At NOVUS performance you can expect to hear a classical-Style work presented with a klezmer piece, medieval chant melody next to a funk tune. NOVUS believes that good music can convey a message and with such a variety the message will be even more diverse, which is a good thing. The emotions expressed by a piece dominate the presentation and NOVUS uses a variety of means to bring them out. NOVUS performance is a combination of lighting, wardrobe, tone colors and visual art to assist in enhancing the atmosphere. NOVUS has tried to bring the trombone quartet into mainstream. The group has recorded a CD album named "NOVUS". With tracks that cover a range of moods and styles, from heavy metal to ethereal new age, the album is going to give you an unexpected journey.
